The Päijänne Natural Heritage Foundation (PLUPS) is changing its name. At the same time, the Foundation is expanding and enhancing its activities to promote conservation efforts. The Foundation will continue its work as a defender of biodiversity under the new name “Foundation for Better Nature”. With this name change, the Foundation aims to further emphasize its role as a protector and developer of Finnish nature.
Päijänne Natural Heritage Foundation is now the Foundation for Better Nature
“Our new name better reflects our goals and values. We want to work for biodiversity and ensure that future generations can also enjoy a clean and thriving environment,” says Markku Kaloniemi, Chair of the Board.
The Foundation has also renewed its visual identity and is launching support product sales to accelerate conservation efforts. For example, highly anticipated nature gift cards are now available as proof of donations made. All collected donation funds will be used for acquiring protected areas.
“Our new site has also been updated to support the Foundation’s evolving activities. The new visual identity allows for a wider variety of fundraising methods to acquire conservation areas,” says Niko Nappu, Executive Director of the Foundation for Better Nature.
The foundation will continue its active work in acquiring conservation areas, safeguarding biodiversity, and increasing environmental awareness. The new name communicates the broader impact of the foundation and invites everyone to join the effort to protect nature. We welcome individuals, businesses, and organizations to participate in conservation initiatives.
