Support as a Business

Corporate Partnerships for Nature

Your company can be at the forefront of protecting biodiversity, implementing ecological compensation, and offering employees meaningful ways to experience and protect nature. We provide an effective way to mitigate environmental impacts while creating opportunities to combine employee well-being with conservation efforts. The Foundation raises funds in an ecologically and ethically sustainable way and is a member of Vastuullinen Lahjoittaminen VaLa ry.

Ways to Contribute

Your company can donate funds to acquire conservation areas – one of the most direct environmental actions possible. With your donation, we purchase land for protection, and the area can be named according to your company’s wishes. Companies donating at least €10,000 per year or 1% of their revenue to the Foundation can have their logo displayed on our website.

To receive a donation certificate, please provide your company details at info@plups.fi.

Ecological Compensation

The 2023 Nature Conservation Act established the legal framework for voluntary ecological compensation. However, practical guidelines for implementation are still evolving. The forthcoming 2025 ecological compensation guide will outline calculation principles for biodiversity impact and field methods for assessing ecosystem status.

Compensation involves restoring or conserving nature in another area to offset environmental damage. It must cover a sufficient area to ensure full ecological balance. The scale depends on the restoration method: the greater and faster the environmental benefit, the smaller the required area.

Compensation should occur within the same or a neighboring ecological zone and involve similar habitats. For example, if a company removes deciduous forest in Vantaa, it can compensate by protecting an equivalent area in Sysmä. Many businesses have voluntarily offset their impact by donating to our carbon sequestration projects.

Team Building & Conservation Activities for Employees

Companies can also support conservation by offering employees unique nature experiences. More businesses are allowing staff a paid charity day annually – we provide a place where this day can turn into real conservation action!

Organize a Retreat in Our Protected Areas

Combine relaxation with meaningful action. Your company can arrange wellness or team-building days in our conservation sites – whether through hiking, nature workshops, or collaborative charity projects.

Hands-On Conservation Activities

  • Want to take active steps to protect nature? We organize hands-on volunteer days where employees can:
    • Install birdhouses
    • Restore natural habitats (subject to available projects, e.g., meadow restoration)
    • Remove invasive species
    • Clear trails and improve conservation sites

Give a Gift That Lasts – Nature Gift Cards

Looking for a sustainable and meaningful corporate gift? A Nature Gift Card supports conservation and is perfect for client gifts or employee appreciation. Proceeds go directly to acquiring conservation areas. Cards are available at different price points, protecting a specified area of forest or wetlands. A €10 card protects 12.5m² of forest or 100m² of wetland. Order from our office.

Make an Impact

Commit to sustainability and lead by example! Through our partnerships, your company can support impactful conservation or restoration projects in our area or elsewhere in Finland, creating real ecological value while respecting employees, customers, and the environment. Companies donating at least €10,000 per year or 1% of revenue to the Foundation can have their logo displayed on our website.
